Ceramicspeed ITA 30 Bottom Bracket Cups 70 mm Black
The CeramicSpeed BB ITA30 cups are impressive in design.
It allows you to attach a 30mm spindle connecting rod, like those from Rotor, to a 35mm diameter, 70mm wide threaded bottom bracket housing.
Bearings are installed on cups, which are then threaded into the bottom bracket shell.
Those bearings are standard or coated bearings.
They both have super round and super smooth CeramicSpeed balls that roll in hardened steel races.
The coated version has a metallic coating placed on the racing, making them even harder and smoother, resulting in longer life and less drag.
Italian threading can be found on many high-performance bikes built in Italy.
The threaded extension is slim as they need to fit a 30mm shaft inside the 35mm housing.
The oversized spindle was designed to be stiffer and faster, just like the CeramicSpeed system.
Standard CeramicSpeed bearings typically have a friction drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set.
That´s in the range of a 75% drag reduction compared to standard bottom brackets.
That´s thanks to the balls that are 100% softer and 15% harder than the competition from ceramics.
Bearings last at least three times longer than other bearings.
You can change the grease to adjust performance.
TT and Track, All Round and LongLife are three CS greases designed to help bearings roll smoothly.
The former is the least dragging, the last is the most durable.
All Round comes in road bearings.
